As 2023 saw new and upcoming artists appearing, the skilled Producer and DJ Avi Sic continued to cement her prominent place on the scene, rising to the forefront with the delivery of striking music, unforgettable live shows, and captivating episodes of her radio show, ‘Late Checkout.’ With 2024 promising to be just as bright as her last 12 months, we’re thrilled to have Avi Sic joining us today to share a sneak peek into what fans can expect from her in the upcoming months.
What’s one personal goal you have set for yourself in the upcoming year, and what steps have you taken to achieve it?
To only release tracks on stand-out labels or put them out as self-releases. I’ve begun the process of starting my own record label and I’m super excited about that. My first label release of the year is lined up for February on Curbi’s label – Seeing Is Believing – which I’m such a fan of.
Can you share an achievement or accomplishment from the past year that you’re most proud of and why?
Being consistent in putting out music. I released 10 tracks in 2023 and I’m very proud of that.
Reflecting on the past year, what’s one lesson you’ve learned that you intend to carry with you into the new year?
Not to give up and take the rejection with a grain of salt because if you keep pushing you will get noticed by the people you were meant to align with.
How do you plan to strike a better work-life balance in the upcoming year to improve your overall well-being?
Spend at least an hour every morning to take a walk, reflect and think about the day ahead of me.
Can you share your top three New Year’s resolutions? Please explain why they are important to you.
Work Hard – going all in.
Work Smart – not to force myself to work and just stare at the screen if I’m having writer’s block.
Work Less – time off to recover and have fun is just as valuable.
Can you name a book, movie, or experience from the past year that had a significant impact on you and why?
I got into the series ‘For All Mankind’ on Apple TV. I love the idea of space and science and reinforcing the idea that there’s so much more to life.
In what ways do you hope to grow and develop personally and professionally in the next 12 months?
By pushing the trajectory I’m currently on, I hope to be playing some bucket list venues in the near future and making an impact with my music.
If you could choose one word or phrase to represent your theme for the new year, what would it be and why does it resonate with you?
Dedication – every year you have to make decisions. For me, that’s re-dedicating all my energy to my craft.
