“Don’t Need You” is the new Niel Degas release in collaboration with the amazing vocalist Scarlett. The house track is available on all platforms from today and is the first in a series of 5 tracks.
The new House track “Don’t Need You” features the amazing vocalist Scarlett and talks about a toxic relationship. The lyrics cohabit with a very uplifting and empowering tune composed of synthesizer sounds making a unique beat that extends throughout the track.
This release is a very uplifting and empowering song about moving on from a failed and/or toxic relationship, and about how one doesn’t need the other person in their life. Personally, it hits home because at the time of the creation I was going through a very similar situation in my life.
This song is the first release in a series of 5 tracks. The next two upcoming releases are going to fall into the dance/pop genres, one with an old-school Calvin Harris sound (think of Rihana or Sam Smith) but in Spanglish (pulling from his South Florida/Caribean influences) titled “Hi and Slow (Sube y Baja)”. The other is more of a Chill Nu-Disco or Funk track. Pulling some influences from Daft Punk, Purple Disco and again Calvin Harris as well as a little bit of Dua Lipa titled “Only Chance”.
The 4th track titled “Ride With You” has a deep house/tropical house vibe and has a bit of a Caribbean influence as well. The final track of the series is still in the creation process.
Turning just an idea into a full tune. It’s the joy the final product brings others that is my favorite part of the whole process.
